    Default Looking for a solution

    Hi there,

I am trying to implement a contribution order form to a site. There are no products and this would just be a 1 page thing that collects info about the user and processes their credit card based on a specific dollar amount. I'm only trying to use zen cart for this because I have no time to learn how to program for direct authorize.net access.

Is this possible without severe modification? Does anyone do this kind of thing with zen cart?

    Thanks in advance!

I think, in its default state, the minimum you'd get away with in Zen Cart would be...
    - 1 'Home' page
    - 1 product page
    - the default 4 (or is it 5) page checkout process
    - the login/account creation page

But there are ways. There are always ways.

Have a look at the long thread about COWOA (which stands for Check Out WithOut Account). That add-on plus maybe Fast and Easy Checkout (see the Free Software Add Ons, link top-left, and search for 'checkout') would combine to create a minimal account/purchase process. And with the single product forced to display on your 'Home' page (which I think is possible using switches in admin) you'd have effectively a single-product on a single page site, with a single additional page for the checkout process -- more or less.

But you're gonna have to sweat a little to get it.

    Thanks for your reply!

Hmm...seems like it's still going to be pretty messy, plus I also just wanted 1 page for ordering and 1 confirmation page. The reason I was trying Zen Cart was so I did not have to do intense modifications to something...so It's looking like even at best, this isn't the right platform.

Are there any others out there that anyone knows of that connects to authorize.net? Their API and their support is really bad, and I find it so hard to believe that there is not a simpler solution to something like this....

What I outlined might take a new Zenner a week or more to do. But a knowledgeable person could probably do it in a day or so. So you could post a request on the Commercial Help Wanted part of the forum and see what responses you get.
