Hi,

On my home page I currently have my shop categories listed on the left hand side bar with simple text.

My aim is to make my categories into boxes in the middle of my home page so I can show a medium size picture in them & when they click on it it will take them to all the products within that category.

Hope the above makes sense & that someone can help.

admin > config > layout settings > Categories - Always Show on Main Page > set to "1"

You have a image associated with each cat - -right??

Yes I have already uploaded photos to represent each category. I will try your instructions & update how I get on.

You need to insure that these images are setup as the cat image in
admin > catalog > categories & products > cat creation screens

1 more question that you may be able to help me with - now I have these categories in the middle of my home page how can I make the pictures larger?

admin > config > images > set the height & width

Assumes that your images are of sufficient size
