Sidebox category text only

Hello all,

This is my first post, I googled and read the FAQ so if this is a dumb question please don't slaughter me

I want to model this site's navigation scheme, it is not built in zencart as far as I know...

What I like about it is the text only on the sidebox and on the main page the images are displayed. I know how to make the images on the main page, but I don't know how to suppress the sidebox images.

Can anyone help? I'd greatly appreciate it.

there is a free addon you may want to look at .

this add on allows you to change the look of category side box , the way you want ..

There is no need to use any module to get the look you want. But we will have to see your site to tell you exactly what to do.

You want all your category links to be displayed as text only, not with the images like they are right now? Is this correct?

Zencart by default displays all category links (on sidebox) as text links only, so whoever coded this site must have made the changes. Did you code the template yourself or did you get it elsewhere?

Another company designed it for Time Signs but I work for Time Signs and am now doing their edits and am learning the Zencart system.

Yes I want the text on the side BUT, the images must be on the front page and with the respective categories when you click on them.

I can post the code, what do I need to browse to to find it?

If I understand the problem correctly, you want to remove the images from the category box on the left handside. This box content is probably generated in a category sidebox module or template file. It is hard to say exactly where, but you can use the developer tool kit in admin->tools to search for this string:
categoryImgListing

If the custom sidebox coding was done according to Zen Cart template override standards, there will be a file named
/includes/templates/timesigns/sideboxes/tpl_categories.php.
Rename this file to tpl_categories.bak, and the default file will become operational again. This should give you the look you want, or it can be easily tweaked in your stylesheet.
