Option Exceptions for Products?

Is there a method for specifying exceptions to options? I'm setting up a shoe store and they sell a variety of sizes and widths. Some sizes come in limited widths, so once a size is chosen, the widths drop down should reflect only the available widths. It doesn't seem practical to set up a single option drop down menu for every possible combination since some styles come in 15 sizes and 6 possible widths. Any advise would be greatly appreciated...

What you are describing is sometimes called "dependant attributes"
i.e. if this size is selected only show these widths...

ZenCart by default, does not have support for "dependant attributes"

It can be custom coded and I have seen this on another site but have yet to see any generic module contributed for it.
