Default Category Support of _MED and _LRG Images

Does category image processing allow for the use of _MED or _LRG images? I use 150x150 sub-category images. When I click, I want to show a 250x250 image. I know how to adjust image sizes, but I want to use a _MED or _LRG image because the ZC image reduction algorithm distorts my image too much.

In other words, ZC reduces the 250x250 image to fit into a 150x150 box. This reduced image is too distorted to read. I would like to upload a legible 150x150 image, and then when it's clicked, I'd like to display the native 250x250 image. That way, both images are crystal clear.

I have read through various posts, but I cannot get this to work. I use this "image override" for PRODUCTS without issues, but I cannot get it to work with categories.

    Example 1:

    150x150 category image: cat1.jpg
    250x250 category image: medium/cat1_MED.jpg
    250x250 category image: large/cat1_LRG.jpg

(I tried both but neither worked)

    Example 2:

    150x150 category image: categories/cat1.jpg
    250x250 category image: categories/medium/cat1_MED.jpg
    250x250 category image: categories/large/cat1_LRG.jpg

I also toggled the "Use Proportional Images" option, but to no avail.

    Any ideas?

This is a default action in ZenCart and only relies upon your insuring that the file names follow the convention and additional med & lrg images are FTP'd to the appropriate folders...

A link to the site where you are not seeing this will assist

    Thanks Kobra.

    The best example is here:
    http://sickbrands.com/ sickcart/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=19_20

Take a look at the image for Dedication Courage Glory:
    images/categories/cat_designs_dcg.jpg

I would expect that when I click on this image, a larger image would load on that sub-category page. The following images exist in my directory:

    images/categories/cat_designs_dcg.jpg
    images/categories/cat_designs_dcg_MED.jpg
    images/categories/medium/cat_designs_dcg_MED.jpg
    images/categories/large/cat_designs_dcg_LRG.jpg
    images/large/cat_designs_dcg_LRG.jpg
    images/medium/cat_designs_dcg_MED.jpg

Zen-Cart loads only the first image.

Is my assumption incorrect, or do the categories use images differently on different pages?

The category only uses a base image and does not use the automagic naming convention. Only products use the multiple images.

I assume asking if there is an "easy" way to make this happen is probably not worth my breath? (LOL!)
