Hi there,
I have a Zencart site which sells children's books.
I would like to password protect my site so that only subscribers can view the contents. The reason for this is that my Unique Selling Point is that the books I sell are the ones that come very highly recommended from children themselves(based on work that I do in schools). In this way we provide more of a service to children , parents and teachers than standard web booksellers, recommending all the "5 star" books that the kids love and therefore encouraging them to read. I think customers are currently coming onto the site, listing the books we sell and going to buy them somewhere cheaper(I can't compete with the big booksellers on price!)
I think, therefore, the only way to make this a viable business is to "sell" my knowledge about the best books to subscribers. I have been told that you cannot password protect individual categories in Zencart. I wondered whether anyone knew if I can password protect the whole site or perhaps set up just a few extra pages that would then take you through to the existing site with a subscribers username and password?
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
