Installing Google Analytics

Is there a way of installing Google Analytics without using a Contrib?

I've had a search through the forums and have managed to find various posts and threads about the contribs but nothing on doing it without. Does this mean Zen Cart doesn't support GA without one?

It can be done by hand. To do so you would need to combine the Google instructions with those provided by Zen Cart for loading javascript that you'll find in the docs folder that comes with the Zen Cart download.

ok, just want to share and contribute to the zen cart knowledgebase...

there's no need to install any contrib or mod...

simply put the google analytics code into tpl_main_page.php
right at the bottom.

Then, WAIT... wait for Google to get the message that the tracker is on...

check again in Google Analytics Control Panel
it should have a green tick...

as to it is tracking correctly, i have to wait and see since i just got it working!
