I don't know about Caralyn, but I've clicked on on tutorials and find it to be vague and confusing. I'm intelligent and figuring out how to do/create/run things is really what I do for a living, but I'm finding this set up to be very challenging and aggravating.
One of the main issues I'm having is simply the definitions. I couldn't even find the term "attributes" in the glossary. I know what the "definition" of "attributes" is, but I'm entirely sure how ZenCart uses these terms. In some cases it refers to "attributes" and in others it refers to "options", yet seems to be referring to the same thing with different words.
What I'd like to see are some example charts of how to set up products with a few common arrangements.
I'm trying to do very much what Caralyn is doing... I'm selling bodypaints (
www.LiquidLatex.net). I would like a number of line items, each basically the same (e.g. "Liquid Latex Body Paint") and each with the option of 3 sizes (16 oz, 32 oz, 128 oz) and each with the option of 19 colors (Black, Blue, Red, Purple, etc.).
That way people may order, if they so desire, a 16 oz red and a 32 oz red and a 16 oz blue and a 128 oz purple, etc... on down the rows.
I know this must be pretty basic (I think), but the trial and error method of setting it up has proved to be ineffective for me, and the reading the tutorial has proved to be time consuming and still ineffective.
If I just overlooked the tutorial and you could point me in the right direction, that would be great. If there's a chart posted somewhere, also great. If there's a simple explanation and you could describe the process, I'm sure we would be most grateful.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
