Slow loading shop

My shop (which is still under construction) loads very slowly. I've tried disabling the flash header, but the loading time of the page remained the same. I'm also using gifs in the sidebox headers, but those are png's of 1kB each, so I don't think they could be causing it.

Any other suggestions on how to speed things up would be great.

Install ImageHandler2...many of your images are over 20k
in size each...turn of category counts, for both admin and store...Flash Header..have it load on one page, not all of them..

Did some analysis of loading times for your site. it was quite difficult as the flash banner kept giving loading errors in Flash 10. Very offputting.

However, although the images are a little slow and definitely slowing down your site, there are two larger problems. One won't surprise you, it's the loading of the flash movie. But more surprising and more serious is the latency of your server.

The fastest initial response time that I saw was over 2.3 seconds, and 3.5-4.0 were typical. That seems very slow to me and I've tested a few other sites that were typically responding in 0.3-0.5 secs. Your transfer rates also seemed a bit slow to me.
