Customers get a blank screen when trying to create an account

The past two days I have been trying to simulate the scenario where a new customer would be creating an account. Once in a while it will run through the full log-in, but many times a blank screen pops up. Any suggestions on how to get this to work consistently?

-I went into the create_account.php file to establish who the email confirmation comes from. It worked after that just once.
-I have read through the FAQ's and they do not resemble this exact issue.
-This is my first store and I am in the process of testing all the transactions.

As it does not give a blank screen all the time you need to determine what is going on behind the scenes....

This is what the debugger states:

I went back in and replaced creat_account.php with the original file and that did not work.

First why version 1.3.0.2???

When one creates a post there s a list of things that you should provide so we have an idea what is being dealt with
Right now we are in mostly blackness in part because you posted in the general area - did not provide any server details etc

Is the server running php 5.x?? and/or mysql 5.x?

That is the version availbale for download from my host's "Install Central"

Solved! I tweaked some things in the code and figured it out.

Be aware ... if this is a new install and you are using that old version just because it is on your host's install stuff ... stop now!!

You do not want to start with that version just because your host happens to have an auto installer for it that is so out dated and buggy and lacking in features ...

Do it right the first time ...
