    Default Help! My emails to customers aren't working properly

    Hi,

    I had a server crash a little while ago and reinstalled Zen cart (totally my mistake). I restored my SQL and copied all of my backed up files over the new instalation. I was very relieved when everything worked fine again.

    I have found a little hitch and I can't figure out what I can do to fix it.

    The text in the customers emails is gone and replaced with $EMAIL_MESSAGE_HTML.



    I am running Zen 1.38.

    Any ideas? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Looks to be a corruption of at least that file - either in the backup or in transferring/FTP the file set

    Replace with a new copy

    Thanks so much for your quick reply.

    Which file is responsible for this? I looked in the developer tools but it came up empty?

    I think the template file is in tact but the variables are not being posted to the file?

    What addons have you installed?
    What changes have you made to the files in the /email/ folder?
    Which specific emails is this happening for?

    Sorry for not being more specific.

    I have Image handler and a payment module installed.
    I modified the email template but it was working before I had to reinstall (thanks to sycronising with golive and forgetting to stop it deleting a bunch of files).
    I can only find a problem with the html reciept emails that the customer gets after making a purchase. The txt ones are fine.

    I recommend that you compare all the files in the /email/ folder against the original unedited versions, and rectify any differences.

    Wow, thanks, it worked.

    All the files appeared to be in tact. but I uploaded the whole /email/ folder and then my modified email_template_checkout.htm file and voila!

    It was hard to spot because all of the files appeared to be the same, but it must have been in there somewhere :)

    Yes these can be hard to spot at times and when there are many. The exact reason it was recommended that you use a diff tool like winmerge
