Can I process credit card orders using Quickbooks?

I am a total noob when it comes to ecommerce. But one of the sites that I have created is wanting to move in that direction, so I am taking this opportunity to venture in a new direction.

What he wants is when a customer is ready to check out, they enter all of their information, including credit card information. But instead of sending it to a service to process their payment, he wants to receive an email with the info from the form and process the order through his quickbooks account. Can someone give me basic instructions on how to do this? I haven't installed zen cart yet because I wanted to make sure that this was possible.

Like I said, I am a noob, so i do not even know if i am posting in the right area.

If you mean manual processing of credit cards then look at the CEON module in the downloads

You may want to remind your client that there are Security risks involved in that type of payment approach.
It also is NOT PCI compliant This is the reason that the default offline cc module was removed from the core code

Make sure, the credit card information isnt being sent by email. If the client has to do manual credit card processing, at least let them log into the store (under https) and view the cc info in an encrypted session.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend taking credit cards this way, and as already mentioned, its not PCI compliant.

ok. I have gone through the installation steps up to the point where it says to go to the payment module section and install Ceon. the problem is that it is not available in the list. What did I do wrong?

I installed the files folder into the zen cart root folder. created the table? what did I miss? I am using zen cart 1.3.8a.

Also, I did speak to the client and the reason he wants to do it this way is because he already pays quickbooks for the service for the storefront, and wants to just continue manually charging from the net. He does not want to use the email though. He will access the database to get the info and then erase the data.

Nevermind. I figured it out. But now it will not send an the email to me saying that I received an order. I am just testing it out at the moment, but was hoping to be able to alter the email so that it does not include cc info, but will at least let me know that an order was received.

Any ideas?

sorry he wont access the database, since they are not stored there. Is there another option besides email?
