Default paypal charging shipping when no shipping

Hi, i am starting to get some orders and a customer from us has ordered a pattern in zip download form from my site. She has emailed and mentioned that paypal wont let me go thru. But i get a email from paypal telling me that an order has been paid for. But it for some reason has charged her shipping cost.
I just did a dummy order of the same item and from her address ( i am in australia) and my cart shows no shipping. But i cant go thru the whole transation. Not sure if I have everything configured. I thought that if my shopping cart shows no shipping fees, it should carry on to the paypal site. confused. Need help urgent. thanks

    Hi Didee,

please re-post the link to your site, seems to be incomplete.

I tend to agree that if your cart shows no shipping then PayPal should not charge shipping. This makes me think that your PP configuration (on the PP site) needs checking.

    Thanks Didee

just been to your site, added a pattern to the cart, created an account and proceeded all the way to PP, all without problems. Definitely check your PP configuration at the PP site and remove / untick "charge shipping".

Another tip: if you want to do a complete dummy run yourself (including payment) then either delete the PP cookie on your computer or use a different computer. Also, use an email address different to the one registered with PP o'wise PP won't let you complete the payment, saying something like "you can't pay yourself".

When I did my dummy order (above) I used a different browser (FF)

thanks for that . I just did a complete order after going to paypal profile and removed all cost in shipping. It worked fine for me. seemed to go so quick i didnt see the check your details page....but it did work. thanks . used my daughters paypal so was able to go thru the whole process. i was wondering if i had to have any other things checked or unchecked in the paypal profile.

You might also check that taxes are not being auto-added either.
