How to use add-ons?

Once I download one of the consumer contributed add-ons, how do I use it? I have downloaded Admin Activity Report 1.3 and Enhanced Who's online. All I need to know is how to use these downloads with my zencart. Thanks

Re: How to use add-ons?

I don't understand them, which is why i need help. it says:

Install
========
0. BACKUP! BACKUP! BACKUP! BACKUP! BACKUP! BACKUP!
1. Upload all files in the admin folder
2. Go to Admin->Reports->Admin Activity

(when i goto "reports" in zencart i don't see "admin activity" as an option in the drop-down menu)

Uninstall
=========
Delete these files:
admin/stats_admin_activity.php
admin/stats_admin_activity_all.php
admin/includes/extra_datafiles/admin_activity.php
admin/includes/boxes/extra_boxes/stats_admin_activity_reports_dhtml.php
admin/includes/languages/english/stats_admin_activity.php
admin/includes/languages/english/stats_admin_activity_all.php
admin/includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/stats_admin_activity.php

where are these files i'm supposed to delete located?

Re: How to use add-ons?

I don't think you should give up quite so quickly. The Admin Activity Report mod is probably one of the simplest mods to install. You only really need to know how to FTP to your website. This can be done using a free program such as FileZilla(client). Ask your host if you have any problems with FTP. Once you are connected to your site using FTP, you then upload the mod's files from your computer, to your website. Using FileZilla, you can simply "drop" the mod's admin folder onto the admin folder of your website and all the files and folders will fall into the correct places. Note that your website's admin folder may be renamed to something else for security reasons, in which case you should rename the mod's admin folder to match. I recommend you first download a copy of Zen Cart and get familiar with all its folders. If you do get a professional installation, see if they will explain to you how you can install mods yourself in the future. I think you will need to learn how to FTP to your site at some stage as it's quite a basic and often frequent task, and you don't want to be paying for professional help each time.

Re: How to use add-ons?

I wrote a small tutorial about how to install my mods, which use some fairly common conventions. Reading this may help you understand how to install other people's mods too.
