Admin Links Broken Help Please!

[FONT=Verdana]On my test site until today things were fine, but all of a sudden when the admin panel shows all ok, but NONE of the links in each drop down connect, they all go to the Google broken link page, what’s happened? [/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]Can someone help me get it all working again please as I don't know of anything that I have done any different to the other one I am working on, which is all ok still?[/FONT]

Have you install any addons or modified admin in any other way?

Hi,

No I have not installed any addons, the only things I have done is changed the admin file name and altered the config.php file, moved the cache and altered the files to match and placed htaccess files in the appropriate areas.

I have checked all I see that needs it, but for some reason, links within the drop down menus are going to 404

If I were you I would check carefully every step I took, paying particular attention to htaccess files placement.

Check and make sure that the files actually update on the server after you made your changes and reloaded them ...

On many servers, the configure.php files are set to 444 and you cannot overwrite the file unless you either change it to 644 or delete the file, prior to loading the new file ...

[FONT=Verdana]thanks for the advice all, I checked everything and still could not place what it was, so uploaded my backup file and re traced my steps again adding in the htaccess files even more carefully.[/FONT]
