Text field input areas

I need help to configure this product and attributes the best way.

It's basically a product at a base price. Autographed is +5 and Personalized autograph is +10.
I have them configured as Product with attributes of autograph and personalized as checkbox options. All this looks fine so far (although I'm always open to suggestions for improvement! :-) ).

Now I realize that I want to have a text input field so customers that order the "Personalized" option can put their info for personalization.
Could someone please help me figure out how to do this? I still want to keep the checkbox for both attributes.

It sounds to me as though autographed and personally autographed should be dropdowns (i.e. mutually exclusive choices), not checkboxes.

As for the text, create an option name (called say "Autographed to") of type Text, and then in the attribute controller add this attribute with option value "TEXT [RESERVED FOR TEXT/FILES ONLY ATTRIBUTES]".

I switched them to dropdown but they're still showing up as radio. Do I need to recreate these attributes for them to show properly? Did I miss something?

Although now I do have the text field showing under personalized.

If Dropdowns switch to Radiobuttons then this is because there is only 1 Option Value to choose from ... they are also marked as selected ...

When there is more than 1 Option Value they will automatically switch back to dropdowns ...

I would like to expand upon the text field and change it to a text area instead. This way instead of a very short autograph being limited by the text field, a TEXT AREA would provide for more personalization. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Edit the Option Name and set the Rows and Maximum Characters ...

Thanks for the update that the TEXT attribute that is used as in INPUT box can also be used as a TEXTAREA box ...
