    Default Tax doubled at checkout

My tax is being doubled at checkout on certain Zones. So that if a customer from zone UK purchases something the checkout total looks like this:

    Sub-Total: £2.68
    Flat Rate (Best Way):£10.00
    VAT 15% + VAT 15%:£3.80
    Total:£16.48

This doesn't happen on other zones. What have I done wrong?

Did you ever find this problem? I am having the same problem with a sales tax for a USA State?

No. I am still struggling with this one. Sub-total is still incorrect as the tax is being added twice. Anyone?

I thought I had the same problem, but I don't when I added it up right. I have Display prices with tax = true, Display prices with tax in Admin = false. Check it again.

I am having the same problem and have not yet found the solution in this forum.

I have display prices with tax set to True for both website and in admin.

To get the 10% GST to work out correctly, I have temporarily set it in the Tax Rates as 5%.

This has the problem of showing the GST twice in the invoice but at least it calculates the correct amount - is potentially confusing but the Tax Office will at least get the right amount paid to them. Will keep it this way until I find the right way to fix problem.

Going by the other replies, it sounds like a zone problem somehow?

My store is still being set up but will only sell in Australia - no overseas on this one so everything gets GST added - there will be no exceptions which I thought would make it easy :-(

    cheers

    Just figured this out:

this post put me on the right track
    http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=135737

For me, it was the zones not set up properly. Then realised I only had one of my zones configured for tax (I had one zone for GST that I thought was set to all sub-zones but what I was supposed to do was set up the tax rates separately for each sub zone). When I went through these properly, it worked correctly.

When I set this up, I went through the tutorial really carefully but this stuff is really tricky to get right.

    cheers
