There was a security error when trying to login.

I'm getting this error when I try to log into the admin panel.

I have gloss_black template from the zen cart.

First off, I have been in the admin for a few days since installing the cart and the template with NO problems at all.

I was just inside changing store name, owner, address & phone number and I saw the "admin time out session".

Me being the genius that I am, I thought if I set the time out from 3600 to 9999999999 that it wouldn't log me out as often.

So now I can't log into my admin panel. I have reset the password twice, and nothing works to let me log in.

I've tried the tutorial given above (https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=312) but it didn't work for me.

If ANYONE has ANY idea what I have done to mess this up or ANY idea of way of fixing it..... PLEASE let me know!!!

You probably can't log in because your session has not "let go."
Access the configuration table in the database, look for configuration title "Admin Session Time Out in Seconds", and change it back to 3600.
You can access the database several ways but your control pane should have phpmyadmin.
There is also a non-commercial version of Navicat available at http://mysql.navicat.com/download.html. You'll need to scroll down to find the freebie.
I use the professional and like its capabilities.

I really appreciate the reply! And please forgive my ignorance... but could you tell me how to find the database? Where to find it?

I'm not sure where to find this, and I don't want to mess my site up anymore than I already have.

I've searched the forum for similar problems, but all the answers I see show how to fix it INSIDE the admin panel, which I can't get into.

I do appreciate any help. This is a new site and have never had this issue before and have set up several zen carts

BACK UP FIRST

Database Tools are provided with your hosting account located in your Control panel .

Log in to your hosting account control panel
Look for PHPMYADMIN and login to this utility .

Once logged in , you should be able to see your database tables .. or you may select your database from dropdown located on top left corner.

from list of tables. Select Configuration , by clicking on ICON .
Configuration Table will be displayed.

Click on Configuration_title , to sort from A to Z .
look for Admin Session Tim out in seconds .
once located , click on pencil icon . this will allow you to edit your table directly .

in field labeled SESSION_TIMEOUT_ADMIN, change the value you have there to 3600 and save
