    Default Cart Records CC Owner?

I'm not sure if this is related to the PayPal Payments Pro features or not. I do not have that module activated, but 1.3.7 never recorded the following that 1.3.8 is doing:
    Credit Card Type: Visa
    Credit Card Owner: NICHOLAS FAKELASTNAME
    Credit Card Number: XXXXXXXXXXXX9999
    Credit Card CVV Number:
    Credit Card Expires: 0609

How is the name of the cardholder being checked and recorded? I'm thrilled with this feature, as I think I just found a fraudulent transaction. My customer is shipping to a different name and listed a different name for the billing address. Before I reject the transaction, I was hoping to find out more about how Zen Cart determined the actual credit card holder's name. Does anyone have more info?

This is a feature of the specific payment module that you are using rather than Zen Cart. You've told us that it's not Paypal Payments Pro, but could you be a bit more specific about which it is?

Yes, I just realized that I was using authorize.net (SIM) in my 1.3.7 version of Zen Cart but when I installed 1.3.8 they had me set up authorize.net (AIM) module. However, before getting myself set up again with authorize.net I was using the credit card offline processing module and it would record:
    Credit Card Type: MasterCard
    Credit Card Owner: ian FAKELASTNAME
    Credit Card Number: 9999XXXXXXXX9999
    Credit Card CVV Number:
    Credit Card Expires: 9999
so it's not an exclusive feature of authorize.net (aim). I guess I could activate the authorize.net (SIM), run a test transaction and see if it records similar info

The off-line credit card module needs to collect that information in order for you to be able to process the transaction off-line.

Since Authorize.net SIM is doing the processing, it's entirely possible that it doesn't record the information as it feels that you don't need it. Can't be definitive I'm afraid, as I've not used it personally.

I tried reinstalling the SIM module, and the input area for customers to use credit cards disappeared from my site! oops, apparently I should be contacting authorize.net to do that, lol....
I put the AIM module back and it's working fine.
I realized, selecting the AIM modue automatically makes my CC input area of my store have these inputs:
    Cardholder Name:
    Credit Card Number:
    Expiry Date:
    CVV Number:
whereas with 1.3.7 and SIM, there was only a # input and Expiry
so THAT must be why those 4 items record on each order when nothing recorded with the SIM module.
Next I ran a test transaction: I told Zen Cart my last name was FAKELASTNAME and as I checked out, I put FAKELASTNAME2 into the CC input area.
The order came through listing FAKELASTNAME for the billing address and FAKELASTNAME2 in the lower section for Credit Card Owner.
This thread stemmed from a suspicion that a fraudulent transaction had occured because the order listed a different name for the billing address compared to the Credit Card Owner. Now I see the difference is because the customer inputed a different name into the cc input section and not because fraud was uncovered.
