payment option customization

Is it possible to edit or add to the existing names of the payment options? At checkout, we have 3 payment options showing; 1) credit card, 2) installment plan, 3) pay by credit card. This is so confusing for the customer. There are 2 credit card payment options and they don't know which one to select.
Our first payment option 1) "credit card", is our offline processing. This is what we would like to change to "Custom Layaway" if possible. If we can't replace the name, can we at least add the words "Custom Layaway"? This would make it clear to our customer exactly what payment option they are selecting.

Certainly. These titles are just text and can changed in each module's language file (includes/languages/YOUR-LANGUAGE/modules/payment/...)

You should probably visit this with your designer. And while visiting, ask about override directories. Your site it setup with classic as the template and will have problems on upgrade.
Also, you have some Zen IDs hard-coded into some of your links on the main page. This will really mess with someone who has a cart and then clicks one of the links.
