Installed Optional Shipping Insurance and Calculator is Broken!

I just installed Optional Shipping Insurance module and it caused my shipping calculator to stop working, so I uninstalled it by removing the files and deleting the rows it inserted in mysql:

Deleted:
/includes/languages/english/modules/order_total/ot_insurance.php
/includes/modules/order_total/ot_insurance.php

Then I went to check my shipping calculator and it's not working AND none of my shipping options are showing!! So, I went so far as to restore my includes/ directory to the version prior to installing this module and shipping methods are still not showing up.

Further, I debugged the sendCommand() function in includes/classes/http_client.php and found that port 80 is refusing the connection. I had the script send me this email:

Host: production.shippingapis.com
Port: 80
Reply: 111
ReplyString: Connection refused
Timeout:5

I called USPS and they said everything is fine on their end, my Web ID is correct and functioning properly. I called my host and they said port 80 is open (the port that is being used by httpClient::sendCommand.

What the hell!! Why is it not working?? It was working prior to installing this shipping insurance module!!

You backed up your files - did you backup your database?

I backed up the database a couple of days ago, and only added a couple small changes since then. Do you have any suggestions for what I can do? I tested everything else on zen and admin and everything is working properly, I can perform every function, except the shipping estimor is not working and it is not working when people put items in their cart as well. Please help me

On the off chance - copy down your USPS details

Uninstall the USPS module from the admin > modules > shipping

Then reinstall it filling back in your details

I did that a couple of times already, and I did it once just now as well. Still not working. This is freaky , every other thing works, it is just not letting it connect to usps rates. It is like a file path or something got corrupted or changed? Any suggestions to help? Or know anyone trustable to pay for a fix? Im desperate here. =(

I talked to a zen guru and she said that is has something to do with the port 80. That the port 80 was not allowing external communications, and maybe something about fsockopen

When it goes to get rates from usps it doesnt do it. Anyone have any suggestions? I am at a loss here and dont know what to do.
