Column sort order numbers - what do they mean ?

Hi
I am still configuring my zen cart, using the latest version, but I think my question relates to all version.

In layout box controller, what does the numbers mean in the left/right sort order, as I see some are set at 0 some at 10 some at 100 and 70 etc etc,
on playing around I notice that it defines the positioning of the side boxes but I can't get my head around where the high number like 45, 70, 100, 200, 300 etc come into it.

It's pretty simple.. the smaller the number, the higher to the top of the list it goes. 0 is the top.

The bigger the number, the lower to the bottom it goes.

it also helps when you specify bigger sort numbers in some way ..

ex..
if you have two side box , with sort order of 0 and 1 and later you decide to activate new side box that will be between the first two .. you have to give that box sort order 1 , then you have to go back to other side boxes and change the sort orders.

however, when you have sort orders that are like 10,20 , 30 .. will help you plug new side box in between any existing side box by simply adding a sort order that falls in between those numbers like 15, 25, 35 , and no need to re adjust other side boxes sort order.

Ah OK, thanks, now that makes sense, the difference between the numbers mean 1 = top or 10 could be and if 10 is top I could select 1 to 9 to insert one or more side boxes without the need of re sorting (re ordering my previous work. got it
