Subscription based downloadable products

My entire store is for downloadable products. I am selling each item individually, but would like to allow customers to have a monthly subscription (different levels) and be able to download up to a limit for each subscription level. How would I set this up?

I would really love to know it too, if we can or if it is possible for a programmer to script it (and the cost if so), etc..

If all of the Downloads had the same price, one method is to give the subscription group a discount coupon ...

But this does not prevent them from sharing that discount coupon ...

The better method is to write something to manage this Free checkout on downloads for XX number of downloads over a given month ...

This would take some time and thought on how to manage this to be done by checking for the orders over the given month and how many have been ordered and to keep allowing a free charge until the total is reached ... and allowing where you get, for example, 3 free per month, but order 1 yesterday and 5 today and should have gotten the 1 yesterday and 2 of the 5 today for free ...

It can get complicated ... but anything is doable ...
