help question FireFox - My Search Side Box is messed up

No adjustments were made to the code. Just "turned it on" via the Layout Box Controller in Admin.

I had to re-install the cart from scratch due to another code problem and upon this install, from the get-go, the search box is, well, messed up!

    Any ideas?

Also, I did this on 3 other carts and now I just can't find it! How do I turn off/delete the All Products and New Products references in the Categories side box ???

    Be,
admin > config > layout settings > Categories Box - Show Products All Link > set to "false"
you will see the rest in this section

Thank you! Just kept passing it right on up. I knew it was in one of those places! Geez. Thought I was going senile at an early age. hehe

You have several validation errors that are probably causing the bad search box.

Thanks for pointing out the validator. Keep forgetting to do that thing. Fixing most of the problems, it still didn't fix my search box nor my add to cart button (want the Quantity: [box] [button] all on one row, right float).

I was never able to figure out what was messed up with the divs, as that is what the remaining errors are. Well, the <ul> error also remains, but I don't know what's wrong in order to fix it.

Well, I figured out the missing </div> - was in the blank sidebox template. So, I passed validation.

However, it still doesn't fix my search box or add to cart parts.

You still have invalid heights of 35px in the top menu and span Ids with (__) as the starting character.

    Lookin' at the other

I fixed those 35px heights probably while you were typing your post.

As for the other - that is the code that Alpha/Globalsign gave for their SSL seal (clickable seal) - any change in the code renders the seal unoperatable/unclickable. I've asked them several times to create a properly coded one, but they never did. But that should have no bearing on the search box and such .... as the seal is on several other clients' zencart sites without a problem.

I'm 100% with the validator, and close with TidyHTML ... Do I get at least an A for validation ???

    Of Course!
I would point a finger at the includes/templates/CUSTOM/tpl_search.php. Compare it from one out of a clean 1.3.8a to see if the session_id is left out or some other code mixup.

I overwrote with "virgin" zencart tpl_search.php file and still the same.
