I have built a virtual garage sale using Expression Engine with the Simple Commerce module. I tried to build my own cart, but my mad coding skills are not up to the challenge. So I downloaded the latest full version of ZenCart 1.3.8. I made it through the first part of the install successfully, but hit the wall with the data base.
This is probably painfully obvious, but do I link to my existing EE data base, or do I create a new one?

You'll have to create a database for Zencart.
