Restricting out-of-stock items from being displayed on home page

I was wondering if there is a way by which Out of Stock products will NOT be displayed on the homepage, featured page and specials page? That is, can I restrict them to be displayed ONLY under the category where they are placed?

Actually I sell gemstones through my zen cart store and a gemstone once sold cannot be replaced with an exactly similar one.

What I want to do is create a category named "Sold Products" which will contains the products that have been already sold out. The product page will show "Sold Out" button. I want that these product be displayed ONLY under the "Sold Products" category and not on the homepage / specials page / featured page / all products page.

Any idea how I can achieve this?

If I remember right the beauty of Attribute by Stock is if you have 25 diamond rings and you sell the last one, the mod will shut down the product page not to show

Or maybe this situation does not meet your needs.. Creating a separate category called Sold Out, is maybe a better idea to display the gemstones..

Yes, I want to create a separate category for Sold Products. That is easy. What I can't achieve is that I dont want the products in "Sold Products" category to display on the home page or on featured / specials page.

That is, I want the visitors to see the products under "Sold Products" category ONLY when they click on this category.
