    Default Fixed Attribute Pricing

    Hello-

I have a conundrum. Our products have attributes, which are basically copies of product accessories. But since you can't have attributes defined from other products, we are putting them in twice. Not exactly the most efficient way, but it will work, and we're fine with updating prices in two places. One for the actual accessory product, and another for the attribute option of the accessory.

My question is that if we are going to do it this way, is there a way to update the pricing across all products for ONLY those products which have particular Options associated with them.

I call this "Fixed Attribute Pricing" because, if the 'value' of an option could be inputed in 'price' then, one wouldn't have to update them anywhere but at the 'option value' configuration. But alas, 'option value' can't be a 'price'.

So how then can I change the 'price' value for an option that is assigned to many different products, each with independent different options?

38 page views and no one has any clue about this? I'm shocked to think that I'm the only one who might run into this. It seems like you should be able to setup an option value type of 'price' so that when you change it, it changes it site wide, wherever that is used. But as I understand it, zen cart was not designed that way.

I'd be happy if I could type in some sort of SQL statement to change all instances of a particular option, to make it's price value change everywhere. Then maybe, we could get a button put in on the admin for it?

Are you trying to change the price in the sense of, all Color Red are at $2.25 ... and you want to change that to $1.99 or $2.99 etc.?

    Ajeh-

Thanks for answering on the other 'batch price change' thread. I eagerly await a more elegant solution to the SQL command, but that's fine for now.

    Thanks again!
