Help please installing shipping module!

Hi,

I have in the last week installed zen cart (I think the version is 2.2.0).

I have just downloaded the Australia Post shipping module 1.1

I don't know how to install it correctly into Zen cart.

Do I delete the module already there?
Do I copy and paste it somehow through my hosting folders eg english/modules /whatever ?

I am very new to all this website stuff so if you can help me as soon as possible, I'd be very grateful.

Hello,

I'm thinking your looking at shipping module version as zen cart as the latest version is 1.3.9f

You can see your version of Zen Cart by logging into the admin of Zen cart and then look for Version link next to log off.

Under the server information will have something like:


Zen Cart 1.3.9f

Patch: 1::

Database Patch Level: 1.3.8

As for the installation of the shipping module.

Pretty much ALL zen cart modules come with instructions.

After you have downloaded the MOD to your computer read the instructions on how to install the MOD.

It's likely that you will only have to copy some files across to the server you have Zen Cart on.

INstructions:

Installation

1. Upload the 'includes' folder to the root directory of your zen cart installation.

2. Go to: 'modules' > 'shipping' > 'australia post' and install the module.

3. Change the dispatch postcode to your own postcode and click 'update'.

4. Go to 'configuration' > 'shipping/packaging'. If you are using kgs as
your weight unit, set the 'maximum weight you will ship' to 20 . If you
are using grams as your weight unit, set it to 20000.

Thanks for replying so quickly. I uploaded the file Auspost.php into english/modules/shipping and into modules/english/shipping or whatever...., and I altered the cofig in zen cart to 20kg as you said, but when I go into the shopping cart, and click on shipping rates, although it says Australia, the rates look very strange, just what was there originally...

Can u give me any more specific instructions? I am most grateful for your help and time.

I probably know as much as you do in regards to this module.

I have not installed it yet.

Generally all Mods have a support thread.

Sometimes this is shown in the read me file.. otherwise when looking for info on a mod do a search in the forum or google for zen cart the mod name and support thread.

I had a brief look for Aus post one but have not found one yet.

I'd probably go through the read me file again for the MOD and make sure your confident all the steps were followed correctly.

The Australia Post shipping module that you have downloaded is an unsupported re-hash of obsolete code with limited functionality. However, it may be all that you require.

I just saw your reply. Thank you. I've posted another issue about Aus post re incorrect postage prices for international parcels. Does your module correct this error?

Would you be willing to 'chat' live or email to help me install your module if you think it's better? This forum seems to take a while (maybe I'm just not used to it yet!) I'm not very confident when it comes to installing things.....

I haven't seen/read your other post so I'm not in a position to say whether the error, whatever it is, has been corrected or not.

What I can say is that the current ozpost module contains no known errors of this nature.

If you would like *help* with the installation you must first read the install instructions and then make an attempt to install it yourself.. in which case you probably won't even need further help.
