Database Not Connected Problem

Hi

My website was up and running and then... I'm not to sure what happened but now I am getting this message when I try to log into the admin area:

0 DB_ERROR_NOT_CONNECTED
in:
[select * from project_version WHERE project_version_key = 'Zen-Cart Database' ]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

I can't open my website from a browser either; it also gives an error about the site being down: www.vervejewellery.co.za

If anyone has any ideas on how to get it to work again, please let me know!

Hi,
I have had the same problem few time, i told my hosting company to sort it out.
did you mess with config file?
Or check in your hosting control panel the database.

I hope some will explain in more details.
I am new to it myself.

I don't remember changing anything offhand... I have been working with other databases on the same website and they don't seem to have a problem so I am a bit confused... Hoping there's a really simple solution that doesn't involve starting again...

i think you may have made the same mistake as me,
each time i was creating a new database, my zen cart site use to go down with a database error.
what i was told you should use the same password to creating as many database you want under the same user.
so if you have created a differant database with a new password then you can change the zencart database password to the current password,
to do that change the config files in admin and includes.the database password or username only.

Any time your site is working OK, then suddenly doesn't, it almost has to either be something your host did, or your site being hacked.

Is the database still there when you check through CPanel?
