Custom Sideboxes - category

Hi, please could someone help me. Im new to zen cart and fairly new to html.

I've made a custom product box for all my products. How do i replace the zencart category box with my custom box? Do i have to create a new rule in the style sheet for this? Do i edit the existing sideboxes/category/ (in custom folder) im pretty stuck would appreciate some help.

If your box consists of a graphical look, you should apply this look to the default box.
If it is functional this will most likely be more onvolved as one should work within the php code allowances
