Why are my images disappearing?

Zen Cart 1.3.8a

I've had zen cart running perfectly for over a year now, but suddenly my product images have begun disappearing. Nothing has changed, no new addons, upgrades, nothing. But random product images just stop appearing on the page, usually only one at a time, out of over a hundred or so total images. This has been happening at the rate of about once per day. The images are still on the server, but I have to re-load them from zen cart admin/product page.

Is this a known issue? Anyone have any ideas about why this would be happening?

Are you using Image Handler or another addon?

Not using Image Handler or any other add ons that have to do with images.

I couldn't find any missing product images with either Firefox or IE6 - although a couple of them took a little time to load in Firefox.

By the way - it appears that you are using the Image Handler 2 add-on module.

There are no missing images now because I re-uploaded them this morning. They only seem to go missing once a day.

And, yes, you're right, I'm using "Image Handler 2." I didn't realize that because I had a developer customize zen cart for us. but I just checked my admin, and there it is. btw... how did you know that?

You can tell by the image source being from the bmz_cache folder

So does this mean that "Image Handler" is known to have some issues re: missing images?

not that I know of - and I've installed it on numerous client sites, none of which have had that sort of problem
