Pay Pal Express Question

Hello All, I installed paypal express today. Inserted the password, username and signature info. In my admin, it says processing under the order status. Will that change? When will I know when it is active? Thanks in advance for your help.

When you receive an order, you should be getting a notice of payment and then you would change the status in your admin to pending, shipped, delivered, downloaded or whatever status you select.

The "Processing" status next to the module in the list of payment modules simply denotes the status you've set which is assigned to orders which are paid-for using that module. It does not indicate any sort of status of that module itself.

Is there a setting that will require a customer to create an account even though he wants to pay via PayPal?

There's no need for that. Just set the Express setting and PayPal will create the account for them.
