    Default Problem with Image Handler

    Hello All,

I seems to have problem with the image handler. Some of my product's images are correctly "handle" but some are not. The problem I have now is that the image are showing correctly from the admin as you can see in the scrren shot below, but the image are not showing on the site. I have the same problem for 2 products now. All other are fine at the moment.

Is there anyone out there know the solution.

Thank you very much in advance for any help or suggestion.

First things to try are clearing the cache for Image Handler through the admin menu. Then, ensure you delete the contents of bmz_cache folder, in your store root. There will be a number of folders called a, b, c etc. These should all be removed. Then ensure that the bmz_cache folder is set to 0777 permissions.

Finally, if you then try to view the images, and they still don't appear, I would suggest openning the files in an image editor, and then re-saving them as the same format. There are a couple of JPEG types where extroneous data is stored within the file, and this has an effect on certain browsersand with the GD_image library. Normally re-saving these files removes this data, and you images should then display.

    http://www.gamenano.com/index.php?ma...products_id=21

    and also this one,

    http://www.gamenano.com/index.php?ma...products_id=11

Your image files are all referenced to as URLs with an additional '/'. You need to remove this, before image handler will work correctly. See the code for product 21, and you will see that the image URL is along the lines of src="images//IMAGE_NAME.jpg"

This is either the URL of the file within the database, or it is due to the way your config file is setup.

    Thank you very much

I can see that the url is with an additional \, but that image are fine. In fact, all product default logo displayed without any problem. Problem I have got is the related images shown in the buttom of the product screen, take the SONY M2 card as an example, (Shown on the original post) The product screen suppose to show a related link image as well, (hand holding the card image) But if you have a look at the following URL, that image was not shown.

    http://www.gamenano.com/index.php?ma...products_id=17

most others work fine, like the Kingston SD Card http://www.gamenano.com/index.php?ma...products_id=21

So what could be the possible cause of this? Thanks again.

Some of your images you have ending with upper case "JPG".
Good chance that in your Admin-->Config-->Images you have set the file extension to "jpg" lower case.
You can not mix upper/lower case file extensions.
Also it looks like you do not have IH turned on. The images I look at was not being processed by IH.
And you do not have all of IH files installed, you are missing at least a css file.

Thank you absolute! After changing the jpeg file extension from upper case to lower case, problem solved! Many thanks.

Got one more question, It's rather annoying that the Register screen having the privacy statement check box on the top of the screen, many user would forget to tick the box before they press the sumbit button. I once tried to have the box ticked as default, but 2 minute later I decide to undo it as it's unfair to assume the user agreeed to my pravicy statement and it maybe illegal. Since all other fields and radio buttons on the register page have a message box function telling user that they have to enter something or enter something valid once they click submit, however, for the privacy statement check box, the page will start loading then shows a warning message on the top of the screen. That was not a problem, the problem is all user input i.e. name address, phone number ... everything will be gone! I think is a bit strange comparing this to other websites. Have you got a solution regarding this?

To garethrooney, Hi mate. When I gone into admin and turned on SEO, all additional images were not wrapped correctly. Once I turned SEO off then they look fine again. I know is not a very good answer, but that is what happen to me. Good luck.
