"New Order" still showing on main admin page after order/customer deleted

my site is not live yet. i entered a fake account and placed orders with it to make sure it works. when i deleted the customer, my admin still shows a "new order" on the front page. if i go into the customers or orders page there is nothing. any way to reset this? i also want to reset the hit counter when i go live

1. click on MySQL, and edit the Orders table
2. just delete this test customer
