Shipping charges for each item sold

I've looked all around and can't find a direct answer for this anywhere. I sell books and I've run into the problem that, whether someone buys one or fifteen, the shipping is always charged for one book. So when someone picks media mail and buys two books, it charges one media mail price and that's it. Due to weight issues I can't just put the books in one envelope so I need to charge shipping on each item purchased. Anyone know how to do that? Thanks in advance!

If so, you might be able to adapt the USPS shipping module to build a set of quotes for each individual Product in the cart and then add them together for the total shipping charge ...
