I've searched and looked and just can't find anything on this topic.
My boss just phoned me and told me to pull our site off the web as it was "seriously flawed and full of errors". Upon prising out of him what he actually meant, (like blood out of stone with this guy) I've determined the issue is that the search is 'too good'
We currently have 8,500 products and this is only a fraction of our catalogue, the problem we're having is that searching for example "hammers" brings up.... "Vices" because the vices have the word Hammering in the description, to him this is confusing and highly unacceptable.
Is it possible to limit searching to titles?
Is it possible to return results with a list of the categories products appear in, so they can then display just the results in a specific section?
I understand that limiting search to just titles will probably make it even harder for customers to find products but I'm battling with a guy that just doesn't understand computers/the internet/real world. that keeps on comparing our site to one of our suppliers, a multi-million £ company that's been selling online for over 10 years
