Hello,
We just installed Zencart (very easy process) and are now trying to configure it for our business.
I searched through the forum and on Google but wasn't able to find an answer to the following question: we sell handmade jewelry, so one artist may produce 10 pendants which are essentially the same pendant (same design, weight, colors, materials etc), except that since they are handmade, each one may be slightly different and have slight imperfections.
For this reason, we like to track each item with a unique item number and the actual picture of the actual item, so that there is no surprise about a little shade difference or scratch when the customer gets their item.
What I would like to do is have a template for a product, that includes the description, weight, material, price etc for a certain pendant that we sell over and over again, but then create multiple instances of this pendant which each have their own picture and item number (for tracking and warehousing purposes).
For example the product page ("template") could show information about the pendant in general, but at the bottom you would see the picture of each individual pendant of this type in stock, and the customer could choose the actual pendant they want based on the picture.
Is this possible somehow?
I am fairly experienced with PHP and Mysql and could perform minor modifications if someone could point me in the right direction as to the logic to choose for this behavior (since I am new to Zencart and do not know how the logic works in the back).
Thank you!
Jean
