    red flag cannot enter admin area: "localhost:443 uses an invalid security certificate"

    Hi there,

    I'm novice in the Zen-Cart. I've just installed its version 1.3.8a on my WAMPSERVER. The OS I use on my computer is Windows Vista. So, I went through all steps of Zen-Cart installation process, and everything was OK; I enabled SSL, HTTPS and everything was good, unless the entering admin area. On the last page of installation (besides CONGRATULATION) there are two buttons at the bottom:

    "Click here to go to the Store" and "Click here to open the Admin area"

    When I click the store button it opens the page properly. But when I click the admin area button, it doesn't open the page, instead it shows up a message alert box with the following context:

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    localhost:443 uses an invalid security certificate.

    The certificate is not trusted because it is self signed.
    The certificate is only valid for <a id="cert_domain_link" title="Tiger">Tiger</a>

    (Error code: sec_error_untrusted_issuer)
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Please, can anyone help to solve this problem, to have access to my admin area? I guess there is a problem with certificate that was generated for SSL, perhaps it isn't.

    Thank you very much in advance.

    Tiger

    Thank you Merlinpa1969. That solves my problem. However, it means that I won't be able to use HTTPS instead of common HTTP, right?

    Sure, you are quite right. But if some day I decide to push it onto Live server, then resetting the ssl into TRUE in the admin/includes/configure.php file, won't it cause the same problem again?

    When you go to a Live server you will need to do one of the following

    1: Get a dedicated IP address and a dedicated SSL Certificate, then you can use https

    2: Get the shared url link from the host of the live server. this will also let you use https ( the url looks funny is all )
