is there a no shipping download module?

our store will feature software products that can either be purchased as a CD or downloaded. I have it set up right now on the product page witha drop down menu so they can select either CD or Download.

My bosses don't like this and want the option on the order page under shipping to be able to select download instead of the other shipping options. Is this possible?

is there a module that allows the customer to select download as a shipping option instead of setting up option under attributes?

Not really ...

The Download Attribute "holds" the filename for the Download and that gets treated separately for shipping etc.

Moving it to checkout makes little sense and would confuse the customer trying to pick what to download and what to get the CD on during checkout and you'd probably lose a lot of customers breaking the flow ...

I go to software sites and get the option of what I am ordering on the Product ...
CD
Download

and sometimes get:
CD and Download
