Default I need to copy Attributes

    Alrighty,

Lets pretend we're setting up a mom n' pop Monogramming store. In case you're not familiar - it's where they sew custom text onto something, like a bag or a hat...

Mom n' Pop have 100 products.

90 products can be monogrammed. (so, I can't put a blanket copy on EVERYTHING)

There are 4 different styles of Monogramming fonts - Each style is represented with an image (so you can see what the font looks like...)

As it currently stands, I have go to into product 001, add 4 attributes called "Font 1, Font 2, Font 3, Font 4" - and then I have to attach images to each attribute. Now - WHY do I have to go and upload the same image 90 different times????? I can click "no" to not overwrite it on the server...k, that's fine - but what I really need to do is copy "font style 1" with it's image over to 90 different products.

Seems pretty simple, yet I can't do it...or, there is an easier way that I haven't figured out. Thanks for the help :)

Take a look at the "copy" function in the Attributes Controller.
That may save you LOTS of time.

    Yes - I have.

When I click on "Copy To", it shows me in bright red letters:

Select the Product to copy all attributes to:

See the bold part - I do NOT want to copy "all attributes"...ONLY the font styles to SOME products.

edit: Thank you Tina - I don't mean to come off as rude or pissed off..just trying to make a clear point. :)

Have you tried to make a Dummy Product with just the Font Attributes and used that to copy to a Product or Category of Products?

    Hey,

Yes - late last night, I figured that out....created a dummy category with a dummy product, with only those attributes.

Seems like a bit much, but it works.

    Thanks :)
