Default Copy and Images in Customer Greeting Area

Hello. I'm a newb to zen cart. I've read much of the tutorials and have purchased the zen cart ebook "e-Start Your Web Store with Zen Cart". I've even purchased a few books on CSS and XHTML. My website resides on a local server.

Question. How do you remove the customer greeting and login to be replaced by images and copy as in this website example http://www.cvtreasures.com/? The content would also be updated and changed periodically.

I've searched high and low for info on this topic to no avail. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Once that's gone, it's just a matter of placing what you want to appear there in define_main_page.php.

I removed the wording in red from the index.php per the tutorial https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/i...hp?article=128. Also the file I edited was placed in my CUSTOM folder within the english folder.

Is the define_main_page.php edited from the Admin -> Tools -> Define Pages Editor -> Define Main Pages? I tried adding some copy to the html editor there and nothing appeared on my web page after updating.

    Thanks

You can use the Define Pages Editor to edit those files. I don't. I download them to my local computer, and do the HTML manually, then upload them back to my override folder.

In the case of the site you referenced, the edited files would go to includes/languages/english/html_includes/kevin

I feel like a total noob. I had the define main page status set to 0 in my admin -> configuration. That's why edits weren't appearing even when I directly made the edits to define_main_page.php. I set it to 1 and now they're there. I think it's much more preferable to do the edits directly in the file.

    Thanks for your help.
