Admin tools

The person that designed our site left us.
He created the shopping cart using Zen Cart.
I get to figure out how to change or add meta tags and images, products text etc.
I've never used Zen cart. I have full access to the ftp site and all the files zen cart created. How or what can I do to access the information...

You would do that through your Zen Cart admin. Unless the designer changed the name of the admin folder, you should be able to get to that by going to http://www.yoursite.com/admin/ and entering the admin user and password. Check the Tutorials/FAQ and WIKI for details about the functions available in the admin.

The admin I have are not working...
can I access the Admin from within the ftp site?
or thru the host?

How can I get the Zen Cart: Admin user password? Since it seems everything given me doesn't let me in.
I have the hosting password and Ftp password..so I can see all the files...

Try the recommendations in this tutorial https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=2. The Zen Cart admin has tons of tools and functions that will make your life easier.

Hi,

I thought did the rest but I think I dropped the zn_admin...before running the script or something dumb..aahhh
when I try to log in I get:
zc_admin' doesn't exist.. Iknow it doesn't since I dropped it in error.

I have a admin but not a zn_admin

Can I rebuild it?

if you really dropped the admin table , then the only way to rebuilt it is to restore it from your database backup ( latest ) if you have any done ..

if you never done any back up before , contact your hosting company. most host do backup of database on daily basis .. so they might be able to restore your database or just admin table for you .

I know I droped the zc_admin for a fact.
Is there anyway of renaming the admin (no zc_) file that is there or is it a totally different beast.

default zencart installer , will create two table for admin .. called admin and admin activity log tables . it sounds like , your designer has installed zen cart once without zc_ prefix for table names , and second time with zc_ prefix ..
your site currently using tables with zc_ added to table name ..

how many tables do you have in your database ? default install is 98 tables.

although that can be renamed , but honestly , i do not know the side effect of such changes to rest of your site.

I was able to restore...
so I have the zc_admin

I ran the restore scripts in sql tab... and it should have reset...
but i can not log in?
