There is not another current version. The older, "simpler" versions require more messing with code inside the tpl file. I reduced and consolidated user coding as much as possible for the recent versions - I would like to know what particular steps you found confusing so I can improve the directions. Did you have any problem reading the readme file? It is an HTML file which you read in your browser - was that not clear? Every feature section in the readme has a boldface comment about how to disable it or not use it.
