Default Paypal Automatic Return URL required?

Do I have to enable Auto Return in my Paypal Website Payment Preferences for Zen Cart to work properly? If not, what are the potential drawbacks, if any?

I have another payment processing system using the same paypal account and I don't want this to interfere (it's currently set to off).

    Thanks.

If you don't have it enabled, then customers will have to intentionally choose to click a button to return to your site.
Technically speaking it probably won't interfere with anything.

You DO need to have IPN enabled though.

If I turn it on but set the URL to something other than Zen cart's return url, will Zen cart override this automatically by passing the proper url during the transaction?

Yes. Zen Cart will supply what it needs in order to handle its own transactions.
