Attribute Images per Row working, but wrong???

I've set the Attribute Images per Row to 5. It's working for the first 5 attribute images, but then the next row only shows 2, then the third row shows 1. Any idea why?

I'm still having problems with this. I'm about ready to give up on it and open a stupid popup (which I hate) and style it the way I want to. It seems to be adding br class clear randomly. It's adding one after the fourth image, then after five more. Any thoughts?

What happens if you make your left column 10px thinner ...

Does this alter the display?

That doesn't affect anything. Zen is adding a <br class="clear" /> after the fourth image, then again after five more. Changing the column size doesn't change that. Btw, all the images are exactly the same size too.

To add to the confusion, if I go to admin/catalog/options name manager and set the images per row to 3 (it was set to 4), it now shows 3 images in the first row and 4 in all the rest. If I set it to 2, then it shows 2 images in the first row and 3 in all the rest.
