Coupon for one category only not working

I have a coupon that is for free shipping is you spend $75 but it's only good with one manufacturer (it's a deal they give us). I can't get the coupon to work correctly. I have tried denying all categories except the manufacturer category but upon checkout, the restrictions don't work. If I deny the top category, the coupon won't work for the manufacturer needed even though it's marked allow. SO...I'm at a loss. Ideas?

I have seen this similarly posted but poster had a different version and response was to try to marked Top Category as deny (which I have tried and it didn't work). Thanks all

I think I got it figured out. I had to select each product (all 13 pages of them) to "allow" in the product area and then it worked. Thanks
