Missing HOME page? Why is it blank?

Hi everyone,

I had the exact same problem as Katt. Thanks so much for posting the index.php file to the forum - that got my blank page to re-appear. But I am still having some issues re: customzing this page. I DO want to replace the "congratulations..." phrase and so I duplicated the index.php (renamed the original on my local drive to indexa.php so as not confuse myself (happens too often))

I did as a previous post explained and changed the "Customer Greeting" attribute to 0 but the text is still there.

So I then made the changes to the text in the copy of index.php and uploaded to my newly created "custom" folder (under ENGLISH) but still no success in either changing the phrase...

This is obviously user-error - I am no php guru and know just enough to really mess things up - obviously. Any idea what I may be doing wrong?

BTW: I switched from Virtuemart - ZC is a much better and more robust solution and I look forward to getting to know this product well so that I can offer it as the standard ecommerce solution to my clients. Keep up the good work!

All was good until I had to change servers .... my hosting company had an issue & had to move my stuff ... they made a new connection & a new a database & re-uploaded all my stuff ....

But my white page is back .....



I can edit the store/includes/configure.php so it points to the shop, but when I edit the one line:

define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/home/ewccom/public_html/store/');

& change the old server detail "ewccom" to the new "ewc2007" the page goes blank .... I can edit the other areas on the page just fine .... it is just that one line that created the problem....


Sorry to be a pain, but I believe I have tried everything I tried from before with no luck ..... I even did a straight re-upload of the files off my HD to the server in an attempt to fix it too ....






Any suggestions would be great ......

Not sure if this will help others in the future, but I just had the white screen scare, and immediately came to this site to find help. When I read the response about maybe deleting an apostrophe, a light bulb went off in my head. Knowing that I had not deleted an apostrophe, I wondered, "What if I put in an extra apostrophe, would this cause this issue?" That is what caused my problem! I had changed the heading to read "Welcome to the Village Frame Shoppe's online gallery..." When I removed the apostrophe in "Frame Shoppe's" my home page re-appeared. When i put it back, it went away again. Check that out and see if it solves your issue.
