I am not quite understanding the question ... where do you have more than 10 subcategories that you are not seeing them all?![]()

admin/configuration/maximum values/Maximum Categories Products Display List........ set to a high number like 999
That works for the number of Products, but I am a tad confused by mgswed asking about the number of subcategories that display ...![]()

I know it's not a well worded question, noticed though that this setting also controls the number of sub categories when you click on the parent. Before setting it to a high number, I only had about 20 sub categories on a page, now I can see them all without having to click 'next page'
This setting seems to control both number of products and number of sub categories.
I am still not seeing an effect on the number of subcategories ... products yes, but subcategories ... hmmm ... very very weird ...![]()

From a usability standpoint, it would be better to combine some of those subcategories and then break them into sub-subcategories at the next level -
