Help with options

I am working on one ofmy sites and am having problems setting up my options for my products/categories. Can someone please let me know what the steps are to properly configure my options and and products/categpories to display my options.

The ones I am trying to add now are:

Baby's name
Baby's weight
Parent9s) name(s)
Birthplace (City, State)
Date of Birth
Hospital (Optional)
Mother's Feelings

Obviously these will be text fields.

I seem to have been able to create some options and added values, but they do not seem to appear on the product page.

One that I believe I have done is in my Background Prints category, the Air Force Paper. I believe I have told it what options are available, but none appear.

So if someone can tell me what to do I wou;ld appreciate it.

It looks like all of these are TEXT input options.

Once you have created the option NAMES (TEXT options do not need an option VALUE), find the product you want to assign these options to in your catalog/products editor.

When you've drilled down to the list of products in a category, you'll see a row of coloured icons on the right, in line with each product displayed.

Click the black one with "A" in it.

Then, when you get to the attributes manager for that product, you need to SELECT each option, then INSERT it into the product.

Yes, I have found it finally and getting some ofmy options to appear. i'll finish the options and test with the Air force paper to see how it looks.

Is there any way to get the options to apply to the entire category so I do not have to sepcify all the options for my background papers?

You can copy options to categories and products. There's help in the FAQ, and I'm sure in many previous posts.

thanks for the information, could not find the FAq on copying the atributes though.
