Default Product with HTML Editor For Customers

I'm building a new store selling embroidered clothing and garments.

What i would like to do is to create a product which has the HTML editor in it for customers to type in the words they want, in the colour and font they want embroidered onto their garments when they are shopping on the site.

Is it possible to create a product that will do this?

Check out attributes - information in Tutorials/FAQ tab above.

Thanks for your reply. I think you have pointed me to a text box via attributes, which is almost what i need.

Rather than a plain text box though i would like to be able to display an editor so that customers can choose text size, font colour and font options.

Is there anyway to embed the HTML editor within Zencart into a product description for customers to edit?

This will be very complicated to embed, and even more challenging to parse the result to the database. IF you have an unlimited budget, I suppose something along these lines could be achieved, but not by using a HTML editor. An interactive FLASH program may work, and I have seen zencart sites that use this. One such site enables visitors to "configure" an item of custom jewellery, choosing the size, shape, design, metal and gemstone. When they've designed their trinket, the data is embedded into their order.

Just how this is done, I don't know - but the fact that it is done indicates it's possible.

In your case - and if you don't have $5000 to pay a guru - you would do better to consider attaching small image swatches to the font option values - each image swatch showing what the font would look like.
